Presented by Dr. Todd Czubek, this session explores the communication option of American Sign Language (ASL) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing (D/HH). We will weigh the pros and cons using specific student profiles, discuss recommended curriculum and strategies, and suggest evidence-based teaching strategies needed for children who use American Sign Language. The education philosophy of bilingual-bicultural will be reviewed. Participants will be directed to additional resources for further study! There will be time for questions at the end of this training.
